Here is what you need to know about the cost of living in Phuket:

Accommodation

The cost of accommodation in Phuket can vary widely depending on the location, type of property, and amenities.

In general, you can expect to pay more for accommodation that is closer to the beach or in popular tourist areas.

A basic studio apartment in Phuket can cost anywhere from 7,000 to 15,000 THB (about $220 to $470 USD) per month

While a two-bedroom apartment or house can cost anywhere from 15,000 to 30,000 THB (about $470 to $940 USD) per month.

If you’re looking for more luxurious accommodation, you can expect to pay upwards of 50,000 THB (about $1,570 USD) per month.

So, if you prefer to eat at more upscale restaurants or Western-style eateries, you can expect to pay a bit more.

A meal at a mid-range restaurant can cost anywhere from 200 to 500 THB (about $6.30 to $15.70 USD)

While a meal at a high-end restaurant can cost upwards of 1,000 THB (about $31.40 USD).

Transportation

Transportation in Phuket can be quite cheap, especially if you’re willing to use public transport or rent a motorbike.

A one-way trip on a local bus or minivan can cost as little as 20 THB (about $0.60 USD), while a taxi or tuk-tuk ride can cost anywhere from 200 to 500 THB (about $6.30 to $15.70 USD), depending on the distance.

But if you plan on renting a motorbike, you can expect to pay around 150 to 300 THB (about $4.70 to $9.40 USD) per day or around 3,000 to 5,000 THB (about $94 to $157 USD) per month.

Although this transportation is cheap, I don’t recommend it for families.

So if you’re coming with a family, then renting or buying a car would be essential.

Utilities

In general, you can expect to pay around 2,000 to 3,000 THB (about $63 to $94 USD) per month for electricity, water, and internet.

And if you’re using air conditioning regularly, your electricity bill may be higher.

Entertainment

A night out at a local bar or club can cost anywhere from 100 to 1,000 THB (about $3.15 to $31.40 USD), depending on the venue and the drinks you order.

If you prefer to stay in and watch movies or stream shows, you can expect to pay around 300 to 500 THB (about $9.40 to $15.70 USD) per month for a streaming service.

Overall, the cost of living in Phuket can be quite affordable, especially if you’re willing to live on a budget.
