Monkey Hill is one of the most exciting places you’ll ever visit in Phuket
And there’s a quote made by travelers that says, “If you’ve never been to Monkey Hill, you’ve never been to Phuket”
I can’t agree more.
It’s a massive mountain filled with monkeys on both sides of the road.
And they sometimes tease you playfully.
You’re not allowed to feed them anything like peanuts and bananas.
But you can still sneak in a little food.
Now, let’s dig deeper and see why Monkey Hill should be at the top of your travel list when coming to Phuket.
What to do at Monkey Hill?
When going to Monkey Hill, you will be doing lots of monkeying.
Things like climbing the mountain while watching the monkeys around you.
You can also feed the monkeys some peanuts or give them some juice.
And you have to be careful because monkeys sometimes try to approach or steal from you.

You are not allowed to bring any food, and the security guard will check your bag.
But, you can sneak in a little snacks to give the monkeys.
So, while on your way to Monkey Hill, you can stop by 7-Eleven to grab a few bags of peanuts or a couple of finger-sized bananas.
And keep them at the very bottom of your backpack.
I must advise you not to bring too much because monkeys will snatch your bag and run away.
Best time to visit
If you go on rainy days, you will miss your whole visit.
And it will be very dangerous, especially if you’re going with a family.
So, it’s better to go during the dry season.
Because it offers sunny skies and lower humidity, making it an ideal time to visit Monkey Hill for clearer views and more enjoyable hiking conditions.
And the best time during the day is from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm
Or afternoon, around 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm
So, choosing the best time that suits your needs is up to you.
Exploring the surroundings
Monkey Hill has more to offer than Mankeys and views,
If you’re up for a deeper exploration, lace up your hiking boots and venture into the surrounding jungle.
Here, you will discover hidden trails leading to waterfalls, temples, and ancient ruins steeped in history.
As you get to the top, you will be amazed by the magical view of Phuket town, the Andaman Sea, and the beautiful surroundings of Phuket.
Getting There
If you’re staying in Phuket town, Monkey Hill is just a short drive away.
You can either hop on a motorbike, rent a car, or take a taxi to reach the foot of the hill.
You can also enjoy an exciting Tuk Tuk ride to the hill, which will excite you on the way to the hill.
